Dengue claims 5 more lives

Five people died of dengue in the past 24 hours, while a record 1,872 new patients were hospitalised during the period, the highest daily figure so far this year.

The Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) disclosed the information in its regular dengue bulletin on Tuesday.

According to the DGHS, the death toll from dengue has reached 195 this year. Of them, 43 died in August alone, while 98 died in the first 22 days of September.
