The Asian Development Bank (ADB) has approved a $200 million loan to modernize and strengthen the electricity distribution network across the suburbs of Dhaka.

The loan will fund the Power Distribution Network Enhancement Project to upgrade infrastructure across 13 Palli Bidyut Samitis under the Bangladesh Rural Electrification Board (BREB). These samitis supply power to rapidly expanding industrial and urban centers surrounding the capital.
