Gold jewelry prices in the domestic market have decreased further, with the rate for the finest quality 22-carat gold reduced by Tk 2,158 per bhori (11.664 grams).
Including value-added tax (VAT), the price of one bhori of high-quality 22-carat gold jewelry now stands at Tk 2,30,772.
The Bangladesh Jewellers' Association (BAJUS) announced the reduction following a price drop for pure gold in the local bullion market. The new rates came into effect at 10:00 AM on Monday (September 28).
The decision was taken during a meeting of the BAJUS Standing Committee on Pricing and Price Monitoring.
A press release signed by the committee's chairman, Dr Dewan Aminul Islam Shaheen, confirmed the updated pricing structure.
