World Heart Day observed in Feni

FENI, Sept 29: World Heart Day was observed in the district on Tuesday under the theme “Don’t Miss a Beat,” with the National Heart Foundation of Feni launching a free heart camp and holding a public awareness rally.

The camp, inaugurated at 10 am, offered free cardiac checkups, diabetes and blood-pressure tests, specialist consultations and a 50% discount on other diagnostic tests.

The event was chaired by National Heart Foundation Feni Founder-President Abdus Sattar and conducted by Consultant Dr Md Emran Uddin Chowdhury. Specialist Dr Nayan Dhar and other guests spoke about heart disease prevention and awareness.

The event was attended by the organisation's patron founding member, founding members, and life members, as well as Senior Vice-President of the Executive Council Md Nasir Uddin (Taslim), Advocate Md Nurul Amin Khan, General Secretary Mohammad Manjurul Islam Bhuiyan, Joint General Secretary Md Abu Yusuf, Treasurer Partha Pal Chowdhury, Joint Treasurer Shahriar Haider Chowdhury, and Executive Council members and Heart Day Celebration Committee conveners, including Saidul Millat, Mohammad Abu Yusuf, Golam Sarwar, Mohammad Sahid Ullah Chowdhury, Md Abul Kalam Bhuiyan, Muhammad Abu Taher Bhuiyan, and Mawlana Omar Faruk, among others.

Earlier, a rally carrying heart-health awareness placards and slogans passed through the town’s main roads. Scouts, Girl Guides, Rotaract and Leo Club members, hospital staff, foundation officials and journalists attended the programme.
