PM Tarique Rahman visiting Feni today with several programmes

Prime Minister Tarique Rahman is visiting Feni today to inaugurate development projects and attend several programmes in Parshuram and Fulgazi upazilas.

According to the PM’s Press Wing, he will leave his Gulshan residence for Parshuram by road at 8:30 AM. Around 12:30 PM, he will inaugurate the rehabilitation project of the Muhuri-Kahua Flood Control, Drainage and Irrigation Project at the Ghatchhar-Muhuri Bridge area.

He will then travel to Fulgazi and join a tree-planting programme at Begum Khaleda Zia Women’s College at 1:30pm. At 2pm, he will inaugurate the supply of electricity from rooftop solar panels to the national grid at the Fulgazi District Council Dak Bungalow.

At 3pm, the prime minister will attend a programme at Fulgazi Government Pilot High School ground, where Family Cards and Farmer Cards will be distributed. Honorariums will also be handed over to imams, muezzins, khadems and priests of different religious institutions.

The PM is scheduled to leave Feni for Dhaka by road at 5:30 PM.

The Muhuri-Kahua project has an estimated cost of Tk 1,542.16 crore and was approved by ECNEC on June 16. It includes rehabilitation of 67.92km of embankments, riverbank protection along 11.73km, re-excavation of 83.50km of rivers and water bodies, rehabilitation of 27 irrigation structures and construction of 77 inlets. The project is expected to be completed by 2030.
