Popular Bangladeshi singer Mahfuz Anam James, widely known as ‘Guru’ and Nagar Baul, celebrates his birthday today.
James said he does not celebrate his birthday in a special way and plans to spend the day with his family.
“I didn’t come to change society. I came to bring joy to society,” he said.
Speaking about music and culture, James compared culture to a river that keeps flowing. He also expressed interest in releasing new music but said the current time belongs to young artists.
“There are many talented new artists coming up. Now it’s their time. Listen to their songs,” he said.
Born on October 2, 1964, in Naogaon, James grew up in Chattogram and began his musical journey there. His distinctive voice and style have earned him a lasting place in Bangladeshi music.
