Police recovered the hanging bodies of three people from separate places including Demra, Kamrangirchar and Bangshal in the capital.
The deceased were identified as homemaker Popy, 35, of Demra; homemaker Swapna Begum, 38, of Kamrangirchar; and Hashem, 48, of Bangshal.
According to police and family members, the three deaths are initially suspected to be suicides. However, the exact causes of death will be determined after autopsies.
In Demra, Popy was found hanging inside the bathroom of a flat on the 11th floor of a building on Haji Badsha Mia Road at around 2:00 PM. Her body was later sent to the Dhaka Medical College Hospital morgue for autopsy.
In Kamrangirchar, Swapna Begum was found hanging inside her rented home in the West Rasulpur area at around 10:30 AM. Police said she had reportedly been physically and mentally ill.
In Bangshal, Hashem was found hanging from a ceiling fan at his sister’s residence on Nazim Uddin Road at around 10:30 PM. He was taken to Dhaka Medical College Hospital, where doctors declared him dead.
Police said the bodies have been kept at the hospital morgue and the exact causes of death will be known after the autopsies.
