A Bangladeshi expatriate was killed in a road accident in Malaysia’s Ipoh area on Friday evening.
The deceased was identified as Imran Sikdar, 27, of Kathiar Gatti village in Saltha upazila of Faridpur. The accident occurred around 6:30 PM local time at the I Tower Rajayatan area in Ipoh.
According to his family, Imran first went to Malaysia in 2017 for work. He returned home on leave in September 2024 and married Mosammat Lamia on October 10 that year. He returned to Malaysia in January 2025.
His relative and colleague Arman Sheikh said they worked at the same company in Malaysia. Imran sustained critical injuries in the accident and died at the scene.
Imran was the eldest of four siblings. His younger brother Kawser is currently working in Saudi Arabia.
The family has sought government assistance to bring Imran’s body back to Bangladesh for burial in his village.
