A low-pressure area may form over the central Bay of Bengal and adjoining areas, potentially triggering rain and thunderstorms across different parts of the country over the next five days, according to the Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD).
The forecast was issued on Wednesday (October 7) for the 120-hour period from 9:00AM.
According to the weather office, parts of Rangpur, Mymensingh and Sylhet divisions, as well as one or two places in Rajshahi, Dhaka, Khulna, Barishal and Chittagong divisions, may experience light to moderate rain or thundershowers accompanied by temporary gusty winds on Wednesday (October 7).
Daytime temperatures are expected to remain largely unchanged across the country, while night-time temperatures may fall slightly.
On Thursday (October 8), many areas of Rangpur, Rajshahi, Mymensingh, Dhaka, and Khulna divisions and some areas of Barishal, Chittagong, and Sylhet divisions may experience light to moderate rain or thundershowers with gusty winds. Some areas may also receive moderately heavy rain.
Daytime temperatures may fall slightly on Thursday (October 8), while night-time temperatures are expected to remain nearly unchanged.
Similar weather conditions are likely to continue on Friday (Friday 9), with rain or thundershowers expected in many areas of Rangpur, Rajshahi, Mymensingh, Dhaka, and Khulna divisions and some areas of Barishal, Chittagong, and Sylhet divisions. Moderately heavy rain may occur at some places.
Both daytime and night-time temperatures may fall slightly across the country on Friday (October 9).
On Saturday (October 10), temporary gusty winds accompanied by light to moderate rain or thundershowers may occur at one or two places in all eight divisions. Daytime temperatures may rise slightly, while night-time temperatures are expected to remain nearly unchanged.
On Sunday (October 11), one or two places in Chittagong and Sylhet divisions may experience light to moderate rain or thundershowers with temporary gusty winds.
Elsewhere, the weather may remain mainly dry with partly cloudy skies. Both daytime and night-time temperatures may rise slightly across the country.
