Bangladesh believes Rohingya repatriation is “certainly possible” with international support and under UN leadership, Home Minister Salahuddin Ahmed said on Thursday (October 8).

Speaking to reporters after a meeting at the Secretariat, he said a high-level committee led by the Prime Minister is working on the issue, though the prolonged crisis has made repatriation more complicated.

On camp security, the minister said drug trafficking, online gambling, human trafficking and armed groups remain major concerns. He also said two army camps will be established in the hills near the Rohingya camps to curb abductions and ransom-taking.
