Rain likely in three divisions

Several areas in Rangpur, Rajshahi and Khulna divisions may experience rainfall on Friday (October 30), with occasional gusty winds and thunderstorms, according to the Bangladesh Meteorological Department.

The forecast, issued on Thursday, said scattered areas in Mymensingh, Dhaka, Barishal, Chattogram and Sylhet divisions could also experience light to moderate rain or thundershowers. Some areas may receive moderately heavy rainfall.

The department said Cyclone Arnab, which had weakened into a well-marked low-pressure area over Chhattisgarh and adjoining areas after moving inland, was likely to move northward and weaken further. Another low-pressure area has formed over the South Andaman Sea and adjoining areas.

Day and night temperatures across the country may fall slightly until Friday evening.

From Friday evening, scattered rain or thundershowers are likely in parts of Rangpur, Rajshahi, Mymensingh, Dhaka, Khulna and Sylhet divisions. Elsewhere, the weather may remain mainly dry with partly cloudy skies.

The weather is expected to remain mostly dry across the country on Saturday. Scattered rain may return to parts of Khulna and Chattogram divisions on Sunday, and to Khulna, Barishal, Chattogram and Sylhet divisions on Monday.
