MCJ Club Limited has officially launched its membership enrolment process, inviting eligible former students of relevant academic disciplines to apply for membership, with the first 200 members to be recognised as founding members.

Interested applicants can deposit the prescribed membership fee into the club’s designated bank account and complete the application form available on its website, www.mcjclub.com.

The club’s management committee said the membership application process would open at 12:00 noon on Wednesday. Detailed information about the application process and membership requirements is available on the club’s website and official Facebook page.

Former students of Mass Communication and Journalism, Media Studies, Communication, Broadcast, Television and related departments at any recognised university in Bangladesh will be eligible to apply, provided they meet the club’s requirements, including the minimum age of 27.

The standard membership fee has been set at Tk 50,000. Applicants will also be required to pay applicable government-mandated duties and other charges, bringing the total amount payable to Tk 55,000.

The club has also reserved certain membership numbers that will be available at additional premiums. Details of these special membership numbers are outlined in the membership policy published on the club’s website and Facebook page.

The club’s Board of Directors has decided that the first 200 individuals to secure membership will be recognised as founding members. Their names will also be specially displayed at the club premises in recognition of their early association with the organisation.

Explaining the rationale behind the initiative, MCJ Club Limited General Secretary Rakib Hasnat Suman said, “For a long time, we have felt the need for a social club that brings together former students of Mass Communication and Journalism and related disciplines. Following several rounds of discussions and careful consideration, we decided to take this initiative forward.”

Club President Hasnain Khurshed said membership applications would be reviewed promptly and applicants would be informed of their respective membership numbers following the verification process.

He also noted that the club had recently completed its registration with the Office of the Registrar of Joint Stock Companies and Firms (RJSC), marking the beginning of MCJ Club Limited’s journey as a registered organisation.

The club’s directors said MCJ Club Limited plans to undertake a range of initiatives to strengthen networking among its members and with the corporate sector, while also arranging recreational and social activities for members and their families.
