The first-ever Textile Innovation Expo 2026 will be held in Bangladesh to promote innovation, research and production efficiency in the country’s textile and apparel industry.

The three-day expo will take place from November 12 to 14 at the International Convention City Bashundhara (ICCB) in Dhaka.

Organisers expect around 50 textile, apparel and accessories factories and 200 technology and solution providers to participate. The expo is expected to attract approximately 5,000 visitors, 100 brands and buyers, and 200 international delegates from more than 30 countries.

The announcement was made at a press conference at the Pan Pacific Sonargaon Hotel in the capital on Monday.

The Textile Innovation Expo 2026 is organised by Textile Innovation Exchange, co-organised by Textile Innovation Center, in collaboration with the Institution of Textile Engineers and Technologists, with the support of BKMEA and BGBA. The event is being implemented by Textile Today Innovation Hub and aims to establish Bangladesh as an innovation-driven manufacturing destination.

Speakers at the press conference said Bangladesh’s textile and apparel industry needs to focus on producing higher-value products, reducing costs, conserving energy and water, and diversifying products to remain competitive in the global market. They stressed the importance of research and new technologies in achieving these goals.

According to Eurostat data, the average price per kilogram of Bangladeshi apparel exported to the European Union fell by 8.47 per cent from January to July 2026, while that of Vietnamese apparel increased by 11.76 per cent. The trend highlights the need for Bangladesh to increase product value and improve production efficiency.

Researchers, universities, startups and factory engineers will present solutions to industry challenges at the expo’s Open Innovation Area.
