Messi assist sends Inter Miami to MLS playoffs

Inter Miami secured a place in the MLS playoffs with a 2-0 win over New York City FC on Thursday.
Goalkeeper Dayne St. Clair saved a late penalty to secure Miami’s second consecutive clean sheet.
The defending champions have now reached the playoffs for three straight seasons since Messi joined in 2023. They won their first MLS Cup last year.

German Berterame opened the scoring in the 20th minute before Rodrigo De Paul doubled the lead just before halftime, converting a Lionel Messi assist.
