2 sentenced to imprisonment after drug bust in Debidwar

The operation was led by the Debidwar Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) and Executive Magistrate, Ashok Bikram Chakma, who was accompanied by a police team.

During the operation, two men—Abdul Jabbar, 23, and Faizullah Hannan, 27, were apprehended for drug consumption. Based on the evidence presented, the mobile court sentenced each of them to 60 days of simple imprisonment under Section 36(5) of the Narcotics Control Act, 2018.

According to the upazila administration, regular anti-drug operations are being conducted in Debidwar. The administration remains active in curbing various criminal activities, including drug consumption and sales, as well as the operations of juvenile gangs.

Regarding these efforts, Upazila Nirbahi Officer and Executive Magistrate Ashok Bikram Chakma stated, "Wherever there are drugs, juvenile gangs, or other criminal activities, we will conduct operations. Whether it is during the day or late at night, we are always prepared to take action against drugs, juvenile gangs, and all other forms of crime."
