The Bangladesh Export Processing Zones Authority (BEPZA) organised a ‘Meet the Investors’ event in Chattogram on Saturday to strengthen engagement with investors, enhance cooperation and address challenges facing industrial operations.

Held at a hotel in Chattogram under the motto ‘Dialogue, Partnership, and Shared Growth’, the event brought together more than 100 local and foreign investors from Chattogram EPZ, Karnaphuli EPZ, Comilla EPZ, BEPZA Economic Zone-1 and BEPZA Economic Zone-2.

The programme was BEPZA’s second ‘Meet the Investors’ event this year. On October 10, the authority held a similar event in Dhaka, bringing together investors from Dhaka EPZ, Adamjee EPZ, Uttara EPZ, Mongla EPZ and Ishwardi EPZ.

At the Dhaka event, BEPZA launched three specialised country desks for investors from China, South Korea and Japan to provide faster, more targeted and efficient services.

The desks aim to streamline communication with existing and prospective investors from the authority’s three leading source countries for investment, provide direct assistance tailored to their needs and simplify investment-related procedures.

The Chattogram event continued these efforts, focusing on strengthening communication and engagement with investors operating in the region’s EPZs and BEPZA economic zones.

Welcoming the participants, BEPZA Executive Chairman Major General Mohammad Moazzem Hossain, said, “Communication is the highest form of respect and today’s gathering will help us strengthen our partnerships, listen directly to our investors, understand their concerns and expectations, and explore ways to make our investment environment more competitive and business-friendly.”

Referring to global trade uncertainties and economic challenges, he said geopolitical tensions were disrupting energy markets and supply chains, driving up business costs worldwide.

Expressing gratitude to investors, he said they were keeping the economy thriving through resilience and optimism despite power supply and infrastructure challenges.
