Bangladesh hit nets as West Indies Test countdown begins

Bangladesh stepped up their preparations for the upcoming Test series against West Indies with a training session on Saturday, focusing on both batting and bowling ahead of the opening match in Mirpur.

The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) shared photographs of the session on its official Facebook page, showing the Tigers' bowlers working in the nets while the batters sharpened their skills.

The practice comes as Bangladesh prepare to host West Indies in a two-match Test series, with the first match scheduled to begin at the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium on October 28.

The home side will be looking to make the most of their preparation time before the opening Test. West Indies recently completed a two-day warm-up match against a BCB XI, which ended in a draw.

The hosts posted 371 for seven before declaring their innings, while West Indies replied with 336 for six.
Bangladesh have named a 15-member squad for the opening Test, with Najmul Hossain Shanto leading the side and Mehidy Hasan Miraz serving as vice-captain. Fast bowler Taskin Ahmed has returned to the squad, while Nahid Rana remains unavailable as he continues to undergo assessment for his injury.

The second Test is scheduled to begin in Sylhet on November 5.
With the opening match just days away, Bangladesh will continue their preparations as they look to make a strong start to the series on home soil.
