Weapons, ammunition, and ill begotten gains recovered in SRB operation

In Narsingdi, a unit of SRB-11 conducted a raid on an abandoned house, recovering weapons, various types of ammunition, narcotics, and cash, believed to be proceeds from drug sales.

According to Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) Al Masud Khan, the acting in-charge of the SRB-11 Narsingdi camp, the operation took place between the early hours of Thursday (October 29) and 10:30 AM at an abandoned house in Ghoradia village, located on the outskirts of the town.

The items seized include a foreign-made revolver, a locally-made pipe gun, 12 rounds of revolver ammunition, 6 rounds of pistol ammunition, 2 rounds of .303 ammunition, 21 rounds of small-caliber pistol ammunition, 6 blank cartridges, 21 rubber-pellet shotgun cartridges, 20 lead-pellet shotgun cartridges, 9 locally-made machetes and knives, 75 bottles of 'Scuf' (cough) syrup, and Tk. 1,071,000 in cash.

ASP Al Masud Khan stated that, acting on a tip-off, an SRB-11 team raided the abandoned house in Ghoradia village. During the extensive search, the cache of weapons, narcotics, and cash was discovered.

Law enforcement agencies suspect that a local criminal group had been using the abandoned house to store these items for illicit activities. Legal proceedings are currently underway, and an investigation is ongoing to identify those involved.
