Actor Imran Khan has sought documents and evidence from India's Foreigners Regional Registration Office (FRRO) to challenge a notice seeking an explanation over the possible cancellation of his Overseas Citizen of India (OCI) status.
In his communication, Imran described the grounds cited in the show-cause notice as vague and contradictory. He also questioned a Mumbai Police report referenced by the FRRO, claiming he had not been given access to the supporting documents.
The notice followed a case registered over his alleged participation in a protest at Mumbai's August Kranti Maidan on October 10 against Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar.
The Bombay High Court has stayed the Leave India notice issued to the actor. The next hearing is scheduled for November 2.
