At least 20 people have been killed in Russian drone and missile attacks across Ukraine, including 14 in a strike on a crowded railway station in Dnipro on Thursday.

The attacks came as a US-mediated local ceasefire took effect on October 29 to facilitate humanitarian aid deliveries to Ukraine’s southern Kherson region.

Ukrainian Prime Minister Serhiy Koretsky accused Russia of deliberately targeting civilians, including trains, railway stations and residential buildings.

President Volodymyr Zelensky described the attacks as “brutal” and “deliberate”, warning that Russia was preparing further ballistic missile strikes.

According to Ukraine’s state railway operator Ukrzaliznytsia, a jet-powered Russian drone struck Dnipro station as a commuter train was preparing to depart, with several passengers on the platform.

Regional Governor Oleksandr Hanzha said another attack damaged a student dormitory and sparked a fire. The attacks also left around 350,000 households in the city without electricity.

Russia has repeatedly denied targeting civilians.
