Students dissatisfied with their Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC) and equivalent examination results can apply for re-scrutiny from Sunday (November 1), with the application window remaining open until November 7.

Nearly 600,000 students failed this year's examinations, while many others did not receive the grades they had expected. They will have the opportunity to seek a review of their results through the official online application process.

The Bangladesh Inter-Education Board Coordination Committee has announced the application procedure and fee payment guidelines. Applications must be submitted online, as no manual applications will be accepted.

How to apply for result re-scrutiny

Students seeking re-scrutiny must first visit the designated application website.

They will need to enter their examination roll and registration numbers in the specified fields and select their respective education board from the dropdown menu. After clicking the ‘Submit’ button, they must provide a mobile phone number.

The number will be used to send an SMS notification once the re-scrutiny results are published.

On the next screen, students will be able to view their subject-wise results. They must select the subjects they wish to have reviewed and click the ‘Pay Fee’ button.

The application fee has been set at Tk 150 per paper. For subjects consisting of two papers, students must apply for both papers.

The applicable fee will be displayed before payment. Students can pay through the following mobile financial services and payment channels: bKash, Nagad, Dutch-Bangla Bank Rocket, Upay, Sonali Seba.

Detailed payment instructions are available under the ‘Help’ option on the application portal.

After completing the payment, applicants must return to the portal and click the ‘Submit’ button to finalise their applications.

Rules for adding or removing subjects

According to the Inter-Education Board Coordination Committee's notification, students can add more subjects even after submitting an application and paying the initial fee.

To do so, they must follow the same application procedure. However, providing their mobile phone number again will not be necessary.

Students can also modify their applications before completing payment. By clicking the ‘Delete’ button, they can remove previously selected subjects and choose new ones.

However, subjects for which the fees have already been paid cannot be removed.

The education boards have also clarified that once an application has been submitted after payment, the selected subjects cannot be cancelled under any circumstances.

No refund will be issued for fees already paid, the notification stated.

Students are advised to complete their applications within the November 1–7 deadline and carefully verify their selected subjects before making payment.
