The three-day Barvida Car Expo 2026 will be held at the International Convention City Bashundhara (ICCB) in Dhaka from November 5 to 7, offering visitors an opportunity to explore and compare reconditioned cars from Japan.
The Bangladesh Reconditioned Vehicles Importers and Dealers Association (BARVIDA) announced the event at a press conference on Saturday.
The expo aims to boost the country's automobile sector and help buyers learn more about the reconditioned car market. It will bring together popular Japanese car models under one roof, allowing potential buyers to compare prices, features and facilities before making a purchase.
Popular models, including the Toyota Prius, Corolla Cross, Harrier, Noah, Voxy and Alphard, will be displayed at the expo.
Visitors will be able to learn about the technology, features, facilities and prices of different models. The event also aims to promote transparency in car sales and facilitate direct communication between buyers and sellers.
A special exhibition marking 50 years of Japanese cars in Bangladesh will be another attraction. It will showcase the development of automobile technology in the country, featuring photographs of popular Japanese cars from different periods, historic models and the evolution of automotive technology.
The exhibition will also highlight the contribution of Japanese cars to Bangladesh's transport sector, from older models known for their reliability and prestige to modern hybrid vehicles equipped with advanced technology.
According to BARVIDA, Japanese vehicles have contributed to the country's transport sector, employment, investment, trade and government revenue.
The association said the automobile sector extends beyond vehicle imports and sales, supporting job creation, entrepreneurship, investment, technological development and international trade relations.
Through the expo, BARVIDA aims to make the reconditioned car market more dynamic, increase direct engagement between buyers and sellers, and raise public awareness of Japanese vehicles, their reliability and technological advancements.
The association has invited car enthusiasts, potential buyers, businesspeople, professionals, families and media representatives to visit the expo.
The event is expected to provide an opportunity for people planning to buy cars to compare different models and prices, learn about hybrid technology and explore the history of Japanese vehicles in Bangladesh.
