Tahshif murder: Disha remanded for three more days

A Dhaka court on Wednesday placed Jerika Tasnim Disha(19) on a fresh three-day remand in the murder case of former Air Force Flight Lieutenant KM Tahshif Sauri.

Metropolitan Magistrate Md Manjurul Islam passed the order after a hearing on November 4.

Disha was produced before the court after completing a four-day remand. Investigation Officer Inspector Firoz Uddin of the Tongi River Police Outpost sought a fresh seven-day remand for further interrogation.

According to the remand petition, Disha was with Tahshif at a restaurant in Uttara on the night of October 27. She was also reportedly seen with another accused, Ahmed Shahriar Reza Dip(23) at a motorcycle garage. Analysis of Tahshif's call records also showed that they had communicated several times before his death.

The investigation officer said Disha's further interrogation was necessary to uncover the circumstances surrounding the killing, identify other suspects, recover evidence and verify her statements against information provided by Dip.

Tahshif went missing after leaving home on October 27. His body was recovered from the Turag River near Rajabari Ghat in Uttarkhan on October 28.

His father, KM Enayetul Karim, filed a murder case against unidentified persons with Uttarkhan Police Station on October 30. Police later showed Dip arrested in the case as a suspect.

According to the case statement, Tahshif last contacted his mother through a Messenger voice message at 1:35am, saying he was on his way home. However, he never returned.
