Ashik Sayeed new GMP commissioner

GAZIPUR, Nov 4: Md Ashik Sayeed, a deputy inspector general of Bangladesh Police, has been appointed commissioner of Gazipur Metropolitan Police (GMP), replacing his previous assignment as DIG of the Rajshahi Range.

The Public Security Division of the Ministry of Home Affairs announced the transfer in a notification issued on Tuesday, as part of a broader reshuffle in the police administration.

Sayeed joined the Rajshahi Range as DIG on July 11, 2026. During his tenure, he focused on maintaining law and order, strengthening anti-drug operations and tackling juvenile gang activities and online gambling.
