CID likely to submit probe report today

Nearly three decades after the mysterious death of Bangladeshi film star Salman Shah, the case remains unresolved, with fresh murder allegations, renewed investigations and prolonged legal battles. 

As actor Ashraful Haque Don remains behind bars following another bail rejection, the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) faces a November 5 (today) deadline to submit its investigation report to the court. The deadline was extended for 10 times previously.

On October 29, Dhaka’s Sixth Additional Metropolitan Sessions Judge Tawhida Akter rejected another bail petition filed by Don, one of the 11 accused in the murder case. The decision means he will remain in custody pending further proceedings.
