HABIGANJ, Nov 4: The government is planning to introduce a new monitoring policy and revise the primary education curriculum to improve learning quality, State Minister for Primary and Mass Education Bobby Hajjaj said on Wednesday.
He made the remarks while visiting several government primary schools in Madhabpur upazila of Habiganj.
Hajjaj said the proposed monitoring system would assess not only student attendance but also learning outcomes, classroom teaching quality and the overall effectiveness of school activities.
He said the National Curriculum and Textbook Board (NCTB) had been assigned to develop a revised curriculum that would be more scientific, accessible and engaging, considering students’ ages, abilities and learning needs.
The proposed curriculum would also seek to reduce disparities in learning hours among schools, improve teaching materials and emphasise practical skills and understanding. Moral education, sports and cultural activities would receive greater attention, he added.
