Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) deployed 33 platoons of troops across industrial belts in Dhaka and its surrounding areas on Thursday to ensure security and prevent unrest in readymade garment factories.
In a press statement issued Thursday (November 5), BGB headquarters confirmed that three platoons were stationed in Mirpur, 11 platoons in Savar and Ashulia, 12 platoons in Gazipur, 7 more in other industrial areas.
Security operations have been reinforced with Armored Personnel Carriers (APCs) and Riot Control Vehicles (RCVs), while BGB personnel are utilizing live drone surveillance alongside body-worn and improvised body-worn cameras to monitor movements in real time.
All operational activities are being continuously monitored and coordinated from the central monitoring cell at BGB headquarters.
BGB troops remain on high alert in coordination with local administration and police forces to maintain order and counter any untoward incidents.
The paramilitary force reiterated that its heightened surveillance and operational presence will continue to ensure public safety, protect industrial assets, and maintain a peaceful working environment across key manufacturing hubs.
