The Indian High Commission in Dhaka has made it mandatory for applicants of all visa categories, including tourism, medical treatment, and business, to submit a standardized undertaking form alongside their application.
According to an urgent notification issued on the High Commission's visa portal on Thursday (5 November), applications lacking the prescribed undertaking form will not be accepted. Applicants must download the "Visa Undertaking Form" from the designated link, complete it, and upload a scanned copy to the online application portal.
The single-page document requires applicants to declare under written commitment that their visit to India will be strictly limited to the purpose stated in the application. Applicants must also confirm that they reside within the jurisdiction of the Indian High Commission in Dhaka on the date of application and that all provided information is accurate.
The first section of the form requires personal details, including full name as per passport, passport number, nationality, date of birth, and current address in Dhaka. The second section specifies the purpose of travel, such as tourism, business, medical treatment, or conference attendance.
Additionally, applicants must pledge to return to their home country upon completion of their visit and refrain from overstaying their visa duration. The undertaking includes commitments to abide by Indian laws, regulations, and culture, while refraining from illegal activities. Violations of these conditions may lead to visa cancellation and impact future visa eligibility.
The final section requires the applicant's signature, location, and date, with signatures from both parents mandatory for minor applicants.
