Prime Minister Tarique Rahman spoke with a group of children and teenagers about sports after Friday prayers. During the conversation, he asked them about their favourite games and inquired about their participation in sports. He also assured them that arrangements would be made to provide sports equipment for them.

On Friday, the Prime Minister offered Juma prayers at the Central Jame Mosque at the Naval Headquarters in Banani, Dhaka. After the prayers, he spent some time with a group of children and teenagers outside the mosque.

Along with exchanging greetings, he asked them about their favourite sports and whether they regularly participated in sporting activities.

The information was shared by the Prime Minister’s Additional Press Secretary, Atikur Rahman Rumon.

He said, “On Friday, the Honourable Prime Minister offered prayers at the Central Jame Mosque at the Naval Headquarters. After offering Juma prayers, he also spoke with some children and teenagers outside the mosque. He inquired about their well-being and asked them what games they play.”

Atikur Rahman Rumon said, “The Prime Minister asked the children and teenagers which sports they liked and whether they played regularly. Some of them said they played football, while others said they played cricket. The Prime Minister also asked them whether they played basketball or table tennis.”

He further said, “The Honourable Prime Minister told the children and teenagers that he would make arrangements to provide sports equipment for them. Later, he shook hands with them and bid them farewell, saying, ‘Okay, everyone, stay well.’”

It may be mentioned that on Thursday, Prime Minister Tarique Rahman inaugurated ‘Notun Kuri Sports (Season-2)’ at Khulna District Stadium with the aim of encouraging children and teenagers to participate in sports and developing their athletic talents.

The initiative has been organised as part of efforts to inspire children and teenagers across the country to take an interest in sports and identify talented players from the grassroots level.
