Electioneering goes online

COMILLA, Mar 19: Mayoral candidates of the election to the Comilla City Corporation (CCC) are conducting online polls campaign alongside different traditional ways.
Facebook, a popular social networking website, is being used in the polls campaign of the election to the City Corporation scheduled for March 30.
Mayoral candidates Awami League-nominee Anjum Sultana Sima and BNP leader and immediate past Mayor Monirul Hoque Shakku have opened personal and group facebook accounts for electioneering.
They have posted their polls pledges and plans on separate facebook groups, pages and their own facebook accounts.
All the mayoral candidates have also posted photographs and put latest negative news against their rivals on their respective sites to win the hearts of voters.
Out of four mayoral candidates, Anjum Sultana Sima and Monirul Hoque Shakku are at the top of web-based polls campaign.
At least three facebook groups - Plz cast ur vote for Anjum Sultana Sima, Sima Fan Club, Anjum Sultana Sima, and website www.anjumsultanasimabd.com are carrying out polls campaign for Anjum Sultana Sima.
Polls campaign for Shakku is being conducted through three facebook groups- "Monirul Haque Shakku Best Mayoral Aspirant of CoCC, "Bondhu Forum"- Comilla City Corporation election (Skku)-2017, Mayor (CCC) candidate "Monirul Haque Shakku"- and website www.voteforshakku.com.
Led by AL central Committee presidium member Kazi Zafor Ullah and AL organising Secretary Enemul Hoque Shamim are now staying in Comilla City area for works in favour of AL nominee Anjum Sultana Sima.
On the other hand, BNP standing committee member Nazrul Islam Khan and publication Secretary of Central BNP Shahid Uddin Chowdhury Anny are also staying in Comilla for their candidate.
