The "Operation Maximus" launched by Swat at a suspected militant den at Borohat in Moulvibazar was suspended on Friday due to bad weather.
Monirul Islam, chief of Counter Terrorism and Transnational Crime (CTTC said at a press conference said that operation has been suspended due to low light and bad weather. "Militants are still inside the hideout and setting off explosions whenever law enforcers try to approach," he said, adding that the operation will resume Saturday morning.
A policeman sustained injuries in a bomb blast hurled by the holed up militants. The injured constable, Kawser, was taken to Moulvibazar Sadar Hospital, said District Superintendent of Police Mohammad Shahjalal
Monirul Islam said Kawser received minor injury. Other members of the law enforcement agencies are safe and sound, he added.
Bursts of gunfire were heard after a SWAT and a bomb disposal team reached the location at 8:00am.  At 11:00am, smoke was seen coming out of the building following the sound of a loud explosion.
Monirul Islam feared that about four to five militants were inside the house with a large stash of explosives.
"Operation Maximus is difficult one. There are several rooms in the building and huge explosives lying scattered. We suspected that an explosive expert is staying inside the building," he told journalists.
Locals and residents of nearby houses have already been evacuated. The authorities concerned imposed Section 144 in the area on Friday morning, restricting gatherings and movements of local people. Gas and power connections to the house have been snapped.
The seven people whose body parts were found in a militant den in Nasirpur of Moulvibazar on Thursday died in suicidal blasts, doctors said after carrying out post-mortem examinations on their bodies on Friday.  One of the four dead children was just around eight-month-old, according to the autopsy report.
"The bodies were totally disintegrated and started to decompose, presumably, they died 30 hours before," said Dr Partha Sarathi Dutta Kanungo, the coordinator of Moulvibazar General Hospital. A four-member team of forensic experts led by Dr Abu Imran conducted the autopsy.
"Small pieces of wires were found inside the body parts," Dr Kanungo said. Another two to three years old girl child was found while the two other were aged 10 years and 12 years respectively, the doctor told reporters. The two women killed in the blast were aged around 25 years and 30 years. The male militant suspect killed in the blast was presumably 35 years old.
senior consultant of the surgery department Subrata Kumar Roy, junior consultant Abu Imran and RMO Palash Roy conducted autopsies on the bodies .
