World showing support to AL govt by joining IPU summit: UK envoy

British High Commissi-oner to Bangladesh Alison Blake on Saturday said that International community showing their support and confidence to Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina-led Awami League Govern-ment by joining in the 136th IPU summit.
Blake made this remark while visiting Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina's political office at Dhanmondi while attending a courtesy call on Awami League General Secretary Obaidul Quader.
Admiring all effort of Bangladesh government to contain recent spate of terrorism and militancy, Blake said, "Bangladesh working hard showing courage and determination to eradicate militancy in the country. British government will continue to provide all out support to the government in eliminating a terrorism and militancy."
Blake also hoped that all political parties will work together to root out eradicate terrorism and militancy in the country.
In the meeting, Quader said all have to work together to eliminate worldwide problems like terrorism and militancy.
Quader also said the Awami League led government is committed to held free, fair and neutral election in the country which reflects in the recent elections.
"The upcoming national election will be held in due time," he said.
In the meeting British High Commission Political Wing chief Adrian Jones, political analyst Ezazur Rahman, AL leader Abdur Razzak, Faruk Khan, Mahbub-ul-Alam Hanif, Abdur Rahman, AFM Bahauddin Nasim, AKM Enamul Hoque Shamim, Mohibul Hassan Chowdhury Noufel, Abdus Sobhan Golap and Marufa Akter Popy, among others, was present.
