Three of four bodies mutilated, samples taken for DNA test

Law enforcers could not identify the bodies of three of the four militants killed inside a hideout in Chapainawabganj's Shibganj upazila during operation "Eagle Hunt" on Thursday.
Only the body of militant Rafiqul Alam Abu was intact, police said.
'The bodies of the remaining three militants were found mutilated. So, we couldn't identify them. But we have taken samples for DNA test to ascertain their identities," said Wares Ali Miah, Additional Superintendent of Police (ASP) of Chapainawabganj.
All the bodies, recovered from a one-storey house around 1:30pm on Friday noon, were sent to Sadar Hospital morgue for autopsy.
Earlier, a team of the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) entered the house around 9:00am and collected evidence.
After ending the two-day long operation on Thursday evening, police said the militants died due to blasts caused by their own explosives.
Mujahidul Islam, Superintendent of police (SP) of Chapainawabganj confirmed that a suicide vest and a firearm were found inside the building.
Abu's wife Sumaiya and one of his two daughters were taken out of the hideout during the operation on Wednesday.
Police said his other daughter was with her grandparents during the SWAT raid. Sumaiya, who received a bullet injury in her knee, was admitted to Rajshahi Medical College Hospital amid tight security.  
No case was filed in connection with the incident as of filing of this report at 6:00pm on Friday. Law enforcers kept the house cordoned off and Section 144 imposed in the area by the local administration remained in force.
