Cold-hit people get blankets in four districts

About 1,400 blankets were distributed among the cold-hit poor people in four districts- Laxmipur, Natore, Naogaon and Moulvibazar, in two days.

LAXMIPUR: The cold-hit destitute people in Sadar Upazila of the district were given 1,000 blankets on Wednesday night.

On behalf of Sadar Upazila administration, Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) Md Arifur Rahman and Assistant Commissioner (AC) (Land) Muqbul Hossain distributed these blankets among the helpless people in Adharmanik area of Toariganj Union, Naldagi, Uttar Hamchhadi and Char Romonimohan areas of Kushakhali, and Mohadevpur area of Dalalbazar at night.

BARAIGRAM, NATORE: Blankets were distributed among 300 cold-hit people in Baraigram Upazila of the district on Tuesday.

Dr Siddiqur Rahman Patwari, MP, distributed the blankets among the recipients at a programme held on Joari Union Parishad (UP) complex premises as the chief guest.

Joari UP Chairman Ali Akbar presided over the programme.

Upazila Awami League (AL) Joint General Secretary (GS) Anwar Hossain Dulal, former Joint GS Moazzem Hossain Bablu, UP Secretary Abdul Maleq, and UP Member Shahida Akhter, among others, were also present at that time.

SAPAHAR, NAOGAON: Blankets were given to 50 helpless people in Sapahar Upazila of the district on Tuesday.

Dakshin Khottapara Somajseba Juba Sangha organized the distribution programme in the afternoon with its President Anwarul Islam in the chair.

Upazila Youth Development Officer Abdus Sabur was present there as the chief guest.

Head Teacher of Sapahar Pilot High School Sajedul Islam, President of Sapahar Press Club Jahangir Alam Manik, Assistant Head Teacher of Khottapara High School Nokhai Chandra Barman, local UP Member of Mostafizur Rahman and Dakshin Khottapara Somajseba Juba Sangha GS Raihan, among others, were also present during the distribution.
 
KULAURA, MOULVIBAZAR: Blankets were distributed among about 50 cold-hit poor people in Kulaura Upazila of the district on Tuesday.

Central AL Organizing Secretary Shafiul Alam Chowdhury Nadel, MP, distributed the blankets among the recipients through the presidents and GSs of the AL in 13 unions of the upazila in the district.
 
Upazila AL President Rafiqul Islam Reni, GS ASM Kamrul Islam, Joint GS Goura De, former joint GS Abul Moktadir Tofayel, and UP Chairmen Mohibul Islam Azad and Abdul Malik, among others, were also present at that time.
