Tarash Upazila Fisheries Officer Moshgul Azad said, soil of Tarash is suitable for fish farming; profit of fish farming stands at Tk 30,000-50,000 per bigha.

But farmers are not getting expected profits due to increased feed prices.

Deputy Director of Rajshahi Divisional Fisheries Office Md Abdul Wadud Mandal said, due to feed price hike, many farmers cannot be benefitted.

If they prepare feed themselves, then fish production cost will come down, he added.
