Appeal for help!

SANTHIA, PABNA, Dec 30: A Qatar returned expatriate of Bamondanga Village at Ar-Ataikul Union in Santhia Upazila of the district is fighting with his kidney disease.

Saiful Islam, 35, son of Aftab Bepari of the village returned home from Qatar as he fell sick suddenly in 2019. So far, about Tk 20 lakh has been spent for his treatment.  But at present, his treatment is not going on properly because of financial crisis. 

Both of his kidneys have been disorder. Along with this, he has also developed liver and lung problems. His physical condition is deteriorating gradually.   

He was in Qatar for nine years. In 2019, suddenly his hand, legs and other parts of the body started swelling; after his return, he underwent treatment in Shimla Hospital & Diagnostic Centre in Pabna under Dr Istiaq Moshararaf; tests found kidney problem; at present, he is undergoing treatment under kidney and medicine (nephrology) specialist Dr Zakir Hossain Khan, associate professor of Enayetpur Khaja Yunus Ali Medical College.

He has been undergoing dialysis for 2-3 days in a week in Bongram Kidney Foundation, at the cost of about Tk 10,000-12,000.
It has now been impossible for him to bear the treatment cost.
 
His liver and lungs are treated by Dr Shahriar Kabir, cardiology and medicine specialist in Pabna Medical College. 
Doctors said, his kidneys cannot be transplanted at this time because of liver and lung problems; he would be needed dialysis until death.

Mita Khatun said, "My husband was the only income earner of our family. We have two children, Umme Sayfa, 7, and Mostafa, 3.  I sold ornaments, sent saved money, sold lands and others for his treatment. Now we have nothing but the house and the land. We are directionless. We applied to different government departments for assistance, but got no assistance. We also ask assistance from rich men in the society."
       
Saiful said, "I have already spent all money and property for treatment. I want to be cured."
