Ex-JU VC Kazi Saleh Ahmed passes away

Former Vice Chancellor of Jahangirnagar University (JU) Prof Kazi Saleh Ahmed passed away on Tuesday.

A notification signed by JU registrar (Contractual) Md Abu Hasan confirmed the matter.

The veteran educationist breathed his last around 5:55 pm while undergoing treatment at a private hospital in the capital at the age of 83.

JU Vice-Chancellor Prof Md Nurul Alam expressed deep shock at the death of Prof Kazi Saleh Ahmed.

The VC also prayed for the eternal peace of the departed soul and conveyed deep sympathy to the bereaved family.

The university authorities declared one-day mourning on June 25. On this day, the flags remained half-mast atop all the buildings of the university and the classes also remained suspended except for examinations.
