Man killed in Bandarban landslide  

BANDARBAN, July 1: A man was killed in a landslide in Naikhongchhari Upazila of the district on Saturday.

The deceased was identified as Abu Bakkar, 55, son of late Ali Mia of the upazila.

Quoting locals, Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Naikhongchhari Police Station Abdul Mannan said Bakkar went to his fishing project at the foot of Fultali hill in the morning.

 While working on the drain on the side of the hill, suddenly a chunk of mud fell on him due to a landslide at around 11 am in Fultali area of Ward No. 9 under Naikhongchhari Sadar Union. Bakkar died on the spot.

Being informed, police recovered the body and handed it over to the deceaseds family members after completion of an autopsy, the OC added.
