BSF arrests five Bangladeshis on Daulatpur border

DAULATPUR, KUSHTIA, Aug 19: Members of Border Security Force (BSF) in India arrested five Bangladeshi nationals from a border area in Daulatpur Upazila of the district on Sunday morning. 

They were arrested from Jamalpur border under Pragpur Union in the upazila at around 6:30 am while illegally entering India. 

The arrested persons are: Rabbi Hossain, 17, son of Kabul Hossain; Biplob Hossain, 18, son of Lalon Hossain; Ziarul Islam, 17, son of Bishu Mandal; Rafiqul Islam, 18, son of Julmat Hossain; and Rohan Hossain, 17, son of Jillur Rahman. All of them are residents of Jamapur area in the upazila.

Local sources said acting on a tip-off, a team of BSF from Meghna Camp under Hogalbaria Police Station in Nadia District of India detained the five Bangladeshi nationals on Sunday morning while they were illegally entering India. 

Pragpur Union Parishad Chairman Ashrafuzzaman Mukul Sarker confirmed the arrest. 

Pragpur Company Commander Subedar Basharul Islam of 47 Border Guard Bangladesh said necessary steps would be taken in this regard.
