Three senior police officers including an additional inspector general of police (IGP), have been sent on forced retirement on Tuesday. The Public Security Division of the Ministry of Home Affairs issued separate notifications in this regard.
They officials are - Krishna Pada Roy, Additional IGP of police headquarters; Khulna Metropolitan Police Commissioner Mozammel Haque, and Additional Commissioner Sarder Rakibul Islam. The circular invoked section 45 of the Public Service Act-2018.
Meanwhile, five senior police officers, who were sent on forced retirement during the Awami League-led government, have been reinstated.
The Public Security Division of the Home Ministry issued separate notices in this regard on Tuesday.
The police officers are Md Nazmul Karim Khan, Ali Hossain Fakir, Abdullah Al Mahmud, Delwar Hossain Mia and Barrister Zillur Rahman. They were sent on forced retirement at various times between 2020 and 2023.
The reinstated police officers are former Superintendent of Traffic & Driving School Police Md Zillur Rahman, Criminal Investigation Department former Superintendent of Police Delwar Hossain Mia, former Superintendent of the same department Md Nazmul Karim Khan, Rajshahi Range DIG Office former Superintendent Ali Hossain Fakir, Bangladesh Police Academy former Deputy Inspector General of Police Abdullah Al Mahmud.
