Bangabandhu Railway Bridge renamed

The name of the under-construction Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Railway Bridge has been changed. The facility will now be known as the Jamuna Railway Bridge.
The names of two stations on either side of the bridge have also been renamed.

Bangabandhu Setu East Railway Station has been named "Ibrahimabad" while Bangabandhu Bridge West Railway as "Soydabad".
Bridge Project Director Al Fattah Mohammad Masudur Rahman told bdnews24.com on Sunday, "We received a letter about the name change nearly a month ago. We have informed all parties involved in our work, including contractors, consultancy firms, and other relevant stakeholders, about the matter."

Railway Director General Afzal Hossain told bdnews24.com, "The name of the bridge has been changed. From now on, the bridge over the river Jamuna will be known as Jamuna Railway Bridge."
