BCB sends 2nd letter to ICC seeking shift of matches to Sri Lanka

Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) has sent a second formal letter to International Cricket Council (ICC), reiterating its request to relocate Bangladesh’s upcoming tournament matches from India to Sri Lanka.

A senior BCB official confirmed the development on Thursday, saying the board has completed the necessary follow-up communication with the global governing body.

“It’s been done,” the official said, confirming that the letter has already been dispatched.

The renewed request comes amid growing speculation over the future of Bangladesh’s scheduled fixtures.

However, BCB president Aminul Islam Bulbul has rejected media reports claiming that ICC has already ruled out Sri Lanka as an alternative venue.

“There is propaganda suggesting that ICC has said playing in Sri Lanka is not possible. I would call that false news,” Bulbul said, adding that communication between BCB and ICC has so far remained limited and factual.

Earlier media reports claimed that ICC had rejected BCB’s request and warned Bangladesh of possible points forfeiture if the team refused to play in India.

BCB has denied receiving any such formal notification and said it is still awaiting a clear response from ICC.
