Vehicle movement at Science Lab again halted following students' protest

Students blocked Science Lab intersection on Thursday for the second day demanding the issuance of an ordinance for Dhaka Central University blocked.

The blockade caused the suspension of vehicle movement in and around the area.

At about 12:30PM, the students of seven colleges blocked three spots of the Science Lab intersection, creating huge tailback in the surrounding areas.

Meanwhile, Government Bangla College students took position at Technical crossing, bringing vehicular movement in the area to a complete halt. Police reported acute traffic congestion due to the blockade.

The protesting students said that the updated draft of the Dhaka Central University Act–2025 must be approved at the advisory council meeting scheduled for Thursday (January 15).

The students on Wednesday staged widespread road blockade across key points in Dhaka for the same demand.
