Man dies after falling from tree in Barguna

A man was killed after falling from a tree in Amtali upazila of Barguna district on Tuesday afternoon.

The deceased was identified as Makhan, 27, son of Lakshmi Kanta of Patakata village in the upazila. He was a day labourer by profession.

According to locals, Makhan had been working as a day labourer with a local resident named Liton since morning. At around 4:30 PM, Makhan climbed a rain tree to cut its branches when he suddenly lost his balance and fell to the ground.

Later, locals rushed him to Amtali Upazila Health Complex, where the on-duty doctors declared him dead.

Amtali Police Station sub-inspector (SI) Sakhawat Hossain confirmed the death and said that legal procedures are underway.
