GHORAGHAT, DINAJPUR, Feb 6: The Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) carried out extensive searches on over 150 vehicles, including buses, trucks, CNGs, and microbuses, in Ghoraghat, Dinajpur, on Thursday.
The operation was conducted from 1:00pm to 3:00pm at a checkpoint in Raniganj Bazar on the Dinajpur-Gobindganj highway under the leadership of Fullbari Battalion 29 BGB Commanding Officer Lt Col A M Jaber Bin Jabbar (PSC, AC). BGB personnel inspected vehicles for documents, drugs, weapons, and other items that could be used for sabotage.
Lt Col Jabbar said the intensified patrol and monitoring along highways are part of preparations to prevent drugs and maintain law and order ahead of the upcoming national parliamentary election. "We are also monitoring each polling station at the union level to prevent any criminal activity, with the support of the district administration. Our operations will continue until the election concludes," he added.
