Hili Land Port holds meeting to boost trade efficiency

A discussion meeting was held between customs officials and local business representatives to enhance the efficiency and smooth operation of import-export activities at Hili Land Port in Dinajpur district on Tuesday.

The meeting was chaired by S M Saifuzzaman Rajib, while Mohammad Shafiur Rahman, Commissioner of Rangpur Customs Commissionerate, attended as the chief guest.

Held at the Hili Panama Port conference room, the meeting brought together relevant customs officials and representatives of local businesses.

Participants discussed key issues including procedural complexities in import-export, document verification, revenue collection, faster clearance of goods and infrastructure development at the port.

Business leaders emphasised the need for faster services, reduction of administrative hurdles and making port operations more transparent and convenient.

In response, customs officials assured that operations would be conducted in coordination with the business community and promised regular future meetings to maintain dialogue.

Speakers noted that mutual cooperation and effective communication would expand commercial activities at Hili Land Port, contributing significantly to regional economic development and national revenue growth.
