Within just 15 days of assuming office, Prime Minister Tarique Rahman has reassigned the portfolios of two advisers to the Prime Minister and eight state ministers.

The Cabinet Division on Wednesday issued separate gazette notifications regarding the reshuffle.

Among the advisers holding the rank of minister, Nazrul Islam Khan has been assigned the Ministry of Agriculture in addition to his role as Political Adviser. Similarly, Ruhul Kabir Rizvi has been given charge of the Ministry of Industries alongside his responsibilities as Political Adviser.

Several changes were also made among state ministers. Md. Shariful Alam, who previously oversaw the Ministries of Commerce, Industries, and Textiles and Jute, will now serve as State Minister for Textiles and Jute only. Sultan Salahuddin Tuku, who had responsibilities for the Ministries of Agriculture, Food, and Fisheries and Livestock, has been assigned solely to the Ministry of Fisheries and Livestock.

Habibur Rashid, previously responsible for the Ministries of Road Transport and Bridges, Railways, and Shipping, will now serve as State Minister for Railways and the Road Transport and Highways Division. Meanwhile, Rajib Ahsan, who also held responsibilities across Road Transport and Bridges, Railways, and Shipping, has been reassigned to the Ministry of Shipping and the Bridges Division.

In addition, State Minister Jonaed Abdur Rahim Saki, who previously handled the Ministries of Finance and Planning, will now serve exclusively in the Ministry of Planning, while Farzana Sharmin, formerly responsible for the Ministries of Women and Children Affairs and Social Welfare, has been reassigned to the Ministry of Social Welfare.

Md. Nurul Haque, who oversaw the Ministries of Labour and Employment as well as Expatriates' Welfare and Overseas Employment, will now serve only in the Ministry of Expatriates' Welfare and Overseas Employment.

Bobby Hajjaj, previously responsible for the Ministries of Education and Primary and Mass Education, has been assigned solely to the Ministry of Primary and Mass Education.

Following the reshuffle, three coalition partners in the BNP-led government - Jonaed Abdur Rahim Saki of the Ganosamhati Andolon, Nurul Haque Nur of the Gono Odhikar Parishad, and Bobby Hajjaj of the National Democratic Movement - have each had multiple portfolios withdrawn.
