Man held with fake currency in Feni

FENI, Mar 14: Police in the district arrested a man and recovered counterfeit currency worth Tk 1.15 lakh along with equipment used for producing fake notes.

The arrestee, identified as Faruk Bhuiyan, was detained on Friday morning in the Ranirhat area of Kazirbag Union under Feni Sadar Upazila with assistance from local traders.

Additional Superintendent of Police (Sadar Circle) Nishat Tabassum said, police launched an operation immediately after receiving the information and arrested the suspect.

"We recovered counterfeit notes worth Tk 1.15 lakh and equipment used to produce fake currency from his possession," she said.

A case has been filed against the arrestee.
