Two minors drown in Jamuna

SIRAJGANJ, June 25: Two children died while bathing in the Jamuna River in No. 6 Noukaghat area of Kazipur Upazila of the district on Thursday morning.

The deceased were Junaid Hossain, 13, son of Jahangir Alam of Halidapara (Bhadrashimul) Village in Bhuapur Upazila of Tangail District, and Ariful Islam, 11, son of Abdul Halim of Khudra Katenga Char area of Sirajganj Sadar Upazila. 

OC of Kazipur Police Station SM Mostafizur Rahman said that after the three drowned in the river, local fishermen cast a net in the river and recovered the bodies of Junaid Hossain and Ariful Islam and informed the police station. Later, the police and the naval police recovered the bodies and handed them over to the family members.
