GANGACHARA, RANGPUR, June 25: A stakeholder meeting under the “Programme on Agricultural and Rural Transformation for Nutrition, Entrepreneurship and Resilience in Bangladesh (PARTNER)” was held in Gangachara Upazila of Rangpur on Monday, focusing on agricultural and rural transformation initiatives.
The meeting was held at the Upazila Model Mosque auditorium with participation from officials of the Department of Agricultural Extension (DAE), local administration, agriculture-related officers, public representatives and other stakeholders.
DAE Additional Director General Sirajul Islam attended the programme as the chief guest, while Gangachara Upazila Nirbahi Officer Jesmin Akter chaired the session.
Special guests included Senior Monitoring Officer of DAE Rangpur region Sukumar and Additional Director (Horticulture) Habibur Rahman. Upazila Agriculture Officer Rubel Hossain delivered the welcome speech.
Speakers included Assistant Commissioner (Land) Hamidul Islam, Upazila Livestock Officer Dr Mahfuzur Rahman, Cooperative Officer Abtabuzzaman, Additional Upazila Agriculture Officer Marufa Khatun, Gangachara Upazila Jamaat-e-Islami Ameer Naebuzzaman, and Press Club President Abdul Majid Mia, among others.
Speakers said the PARTNER project would play an important role in making agriculture more modern, profitable and sustainable by providing technical support to farmers, promoting entrepreneurship, improving nutrition security and strengthening rural economic development.
Detailed discussions were held on the project’s objectives, activities and implementation strategies. Participants expressed commitment to ensuring effective field-level coordination to deliver the project’s benefits to farmers.
The programme was organised by the DAE, Gangachara, Rangpur.
